When you support Powerhouse Recovery Homes, you’re helping men and women right here in the Lafayette, Louisiana community who are working to rebuild their lives in recovery.
The people who come through our doors arrive from many different circumstances. Some are transitioning from substance-use treatment or rehabilitation programs. Some are returning to the community after incarceration or through reentry programs. Others are experiencing homelessness, living in unstable housing, or simply have no safe and stable place to call home.
What they have in common is the need for a safe, sober and stable place to begin again.
Powerhouse Recovery Homes helps bridge the gap between where someone has been and where they’re trying to go. By providing structured sober housing and connecting residents with practical resources, we help people work toward recovery, employment, financial stability and independent living.
For some residents, getting into housing is only the first step. They may arrive without transportation, identification, appropriate clothing for work, personal-care items, or the financial resources needed to get established.
Whether it’s $5, $10, $25, $50, $100 or any amount you choose, your contribution can help meet real needs for residents of Powerhouse Recovery Homes.
Your support can help with transportation, employment needs, identification documents, personal necessities, recovery resources, housing assistance and other barriers residents may face while getting back on their feet.
A safe, sober place to live can make a tremendous difference for someone rebuilding their life.
A $180 contribution can cover one week of housing assistance for an approved Powerhouse resident experiencing financial hardship.
That week provides more than a place to sleep. It provides stability and additional time in a safe, structured and sober environment while that resident works, searches for employment, attends recovery meetings and continues taking steps toward independence.
Employment is an important step toward becoming financially independent, but sometimes getting hired is only the beginning.
Some residents don’t have the clothing or equipment required to start their new job.
Donations can help provide:
Something as simple as a pair of work boots can be the difference between getting a job and actually being able to start it.
Imagine trying to rebuild your life without a driver’s license, state ID, Social Security card or birth certificate.
Some residents arrive without the basic documents they need to obtain employment, drive, apply for services or complete other important steps toward independence.
Your support can help residents obtain or replace:
